Tiger Nut Milk Hair Conditioning Rinse
This is the book's only apple cider vinegar hair rinse, included specifically because ACV's acidity lowers hair's surface pH after the alkaline effect of most shampoos, which closes (seals) the hair cuticle and creates the smooth, shiny finish this recipe is known for, a genuinely different mechanism from the oil- and protein-based conditioning treatments used everywhere else in this book.

Ingredients
- Phase A (Aqueous Phase)
- ½ cup (120 mL / 120g) Tiger Nut Milk
- Phase B (Humectant Phase)
- 1 tbsp (15 mL / 21g) Raw Honey
- 1 tsp (5 mL) Apple Cider Vinegar
Method & application
- Whisk tiger nut milk and raw honey together in a beaker until the honey completely dissolves.
- Add apple cider vinegar and stir well.
- APPLICATION
- After shampooing, pour the mixture over hair lengths and scalp.
- Leave on for 3–5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water.
Kitchen note
Cool water for the final rinse isn't just comfort, cooler temperatures also help the hair cuticle lie flatter, compounding the smoothing effect of the vinegar itself.
