Spiced Eggnog Alternative
Creamy oat milk whipped with nutmeg, clove, and vanilla paste, delivering the same cozy spice profile as traditional eggnog without any dairy or eggs.
By Aunesty Janssen · The Arrogant Hippie Culinary Journal: Oat Milk Edition
Ingredients
- 2.5 cups Oat Milk
- 1/3 cup Maple Syrup
- 1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp Ground Clove
- 1 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste
- 1/4 cup Coconut Cream, whipped
Method
- Combine the oat milk, maple syrup, nutmeg, and clove in a saucepan over low heat.
- Warm gently, whisking occasionally, for 5 minutes without letting it boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla bean paste.
- Chill for at least 2 hours.
- Serve topped with whipped coconut cream and an extra dusting of nutmeg.
Kitchen note
Whipped coconut cream on top adds the rich mouthfeel eggnog usually gets from egg yolks, since oat milk alone, however good, doesn't quite replicate that particular richness on its own.
