Fudgy Dark Chocolate Brownies
Super chewy, non-cakey brownies that rely on hemp milk for moisture and a dense, fudgy crumb.
By Aunesty Janssen · The Arrogant Hippie Culinary Journal: Hemp Milk Edition
Ingredients
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Dark Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Hemp Milk
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Melted Butter
- 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment.
- Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar, hemp milk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth.
- Fold the wet ingredients into the dry, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour into the prepared pan and bake 28 to 32 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Kitchen note
Hemp milk's fat and protein content is exactly what gives these their dense, fudgy texture rather than a cakey crumb — don't overbake looking for a completely clean toothpick, since that will dry these out.
