Beauty formulation
Hemp Milk Lip Balm
The key technical note in this formula, adding hemp seed oil only after the beeswax is off the heat, exists because hemp seed oil's omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are genuinely heat-sensitive and can degrade with prolonged direct heat exposure, unlike the more heat-stable oils (coconut, almond) used elsewhere in the book.

Ingredients
- Phase A (Wax & Oil Matrix)
- 2 tbsp (28g) Beeswax Pellets
- 2 tbsp (30 mL / 28g) Organic Hemp Seed Oil
- Phase B (Active Dry Powder)
- 1 tbsp (8g) Hemp Milk Powder
Method & application
- Melt beeswax pellets in a double boiler over low heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in cold-pressed hemp seed oil.
- Sift hemp milk powder into the molten wax mixture and whisk until smooth and lump-free.
- Pour immediately into lip balm tubes or small metal tins.
- Allow to cool undisturbed for 20 minutes to set hard.
- APPLICATION
- Apply generously onto lips as needed throughout the day for barrier restoration.
Kitchen note
Work quickly once the hemp oil goes in, because it's added off-heat, the mixture starts cooling immediately, giving you a shorter working window than the book's other lip balms.
