Cold Brew Almond Milk Macchiato
Layered iced coffee over chilled, lightly sweetened almond milk, showcasing almond milk's clean finish over ice.
By Aunesty Janssen · The Arrogant Hippie Culinary Journal: Almond Milk Edition
Ingredients
- 1 cup Cold Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 2 tbsp Maple Syrup or Simple Syrup
- 1 cup Cold Brew Concentrate
- Ice, for serving
Method
- Fill a tall glass generously with ice.
- Stir the maple syrup into the cold almond milk and pour over the ice.
- Slowly pour the cold brew concentrate over the back of a spoon so it layers on top rather than mixing immediately.
- Stir just before drinking to combine.
Kitchen note
Almond milk is more prone to separating in acidic cold brew than a dairy milk would be — using a concentrate rather than already-diluted iced coffee keeps the acidity lower and the layers cleaner.
