Coconut Milk Shampoo Bar
A solid-format, plastic-bottle-free shampoo alternative built on the same melt-and-pour principle as the book's other soap bars, but formulated with a shea-butter or glycerin base specifically chosen for its compatibility with hair and scalp rather than body skin alone.

- 1 tbsp (15 mL / 14g) Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, melted
Method & application
- Cube soap base and melt in a double boiler over low heat.
- In a small bowl, slurry coconut milk powder with melted coconut oil until smooth.
- Remove melted soap base from heat (approximately 55°C) and whisk in the coconut milk slurry until completely combined.
- Pour into silicone soap bar molds. Spritz surface with 70% alcohol.
- Let cool undisturbed for 2 hours before unmolding.
- APPLICATION
- Rub wet shampoo bar between hands or directly onto wet scalp to create lather. Massage scalp and rinse thoroughly.
Kitchen note
Give this bar a full week to fully cure and harden after unmolding before regular use, a longer-cured bar lasts significantly more washes than one used right away.
