By Aunesty Janssen · The Arrogant Hippie Culinary Journal: Almond Milk Edition
Ingredients
- 2 cups Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 tsp Ground Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup or Honey
Method
- Combine the almond milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper in a saucepan.
- Warm over medium-low heat, whisking often, until steaming but not boiling.
- Simmer gently 3 to 4 minutes to let the spices infuse.
- Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup to taste.
- Strain if a smoother texture is preferred, then serve warm.
Kitchen note
Keep this at a gentle simmer rather than a rolling boil — almond milk's thin body means it can scorch and separate at the bottom of the pot faster than dairy milk under sustained high heat.
