Almond Milk Açaí Bowl Base
Blended thick with frozen açaí and bananas, using just enough almond milk to move the blender without thinning out the bowl.
By Aunesty Janssen · The Arrogant Hippie Culinary Journal: Almond Milk Edition
Ingredients
- 1 packet (100g) Frozen Açaí Purée
- 1 Frozen Banana
- 1/2 cup Frozen Mixed Berries
- 1/3 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 tbsp Almond Butter
- Granola, sliced fruit, and coconut flakes, to top
Method
- Break the açaí packet into chunks and add to a high-powered blender with the banana and berries.
- Add the almond milk and almond butter.
- Blend on low, pushing down with a tamper as needed, until just smooth and thick — this should be spoonable, not drinkable.
- Pour into a bowl and top with granola, sliced fruit, and coconut flakes.
Kitchen note
Add the almond milk gradually, a splash at a time — because it's thin, it's easy to over-pour and end up with a smoothie instead of a bowl. You can always add more, but you can't take it back out.
